Hazel was a loving Christian, focused on dedication to God. She served her whole life as Sunday School teacher to children and adults, at Orange Hill Baptist and Calvary Baptist Churches.
She sang in choirs and participated in many ministries of these churches. She shared the gospel at every opportunity through spoken word, literature, singing hymns daily to family, friends and strangers, quoting scripture, and reaching out to anyone in need. She is well-known for the little cross pens she wore daily. The impact she made on others for God is immeasurable.
Her smile, songs and sweet servant heart will be greatly missed by all those she touched, as well as her stories of life on the farm in Canton, Ga. With 7 brothers and sisters. We will also miss her strong will, directive personality and opinions, which often brought humor to our family.
She loved nature, birds and children and grew the best tomatoes on earth. Her southern cooking was amazingas was her green thumb.
Hazel was preceded in death by parents, Henry and Fannie Henderson; husband, Paul Samuel Hendrix; brothers, Lewis, James, Berry and Carlos Henderson and sister Mary Henderson Crowder.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday 6/30/17 at Davis Struempf Funeral Home in Austell, Ga.
