Hazel Carson Jenkins' Obituary
Hazel Carson Jenkins, age 90 of Mableton, GA passed away Friday January 20, 2017. She was a homemaker and lived in Cobb County all of her life. She was a lifelong member of Zion View Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris F. Jenkins; son, Jerry D. Jenkins and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.F. Carson. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Rollen Carson, William Carson, Ralph Carson, Frank Carson, and sister Doris “Dot” McGee.
She is survived by her daughter, Gayla (Tony) Alonso; sister, Francis Loner; grandchildren, Jeff (Teresa) Jenkins; Joey (Claudette) Alonso; Lori (Ed) Purvis; Bradley Jenkins and Paul (Maggie) Jenkins; 10 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
She was the loving wife of Morris Jenkins (former WWII POW) for 61 years. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed the summer vacations as they were growing up. She was affectionately “MeMaw” to all her grand, great and great- great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday 2:00 PM at Davis- Struempf Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry Elsner officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 4:00PM-8:00PM at the funeral home.
