Harold Lee Sanders' Obituary
Harold Lee Sanders, age 92, of Centre, AL and formerly of Cobb County, GA, passed away surrounded by his family on June 24, 2023. Harold was born to Noah and Ivie Sanders in Marietta and spent much of his life in Cobb County. He was formerly a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Marietta and Lighthouse Church in Bremen.
Harold could fix anything. With his many years of experience at Ed Voyles Honda, he was a whiz at repairing cars, and in his earlier years, he used to build hot rods and drag race. He also loved to work in the yard and ride his riding lawn mower.
Faith was very important to Harold. He was ordained and pastored during missionary work in the West Indies. He loved his church family and was currently attending Welcome Baptist Church in Piedmont, AL.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Jack Sanders. He is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, Betty C. Sanders; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and church family.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 28, 1:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Roger Butler officiating. Interment will follow the service at Powder Springs Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 1:00 PM before the service.
Flowers are kindly accepted, however, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Welcome Baptist Church, 3415 Tom Cat Road, Piedmont, AL 36272.
