Hardy "Ray" Jones' Obituary
Hardy "Ray" Jones, age 94 of Powder Springs went to his heavenly home on February 25, 2024.
Ray was a wonderful husband, father, brother, and grandfather to his loving family. He dedicated 73 years of his life to his devoted wife, JoAnne Greene Jones. Ray could do about anything when it came to working with his hands. Whether it was enjoying his time as a bee keeper, or doing woodworking projects, he was an avid outdoorsman that strived to create. He even built his own homes with his carpentry skills. But above all, Ray loved his family more than anything.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnne; children, Danny (Melissa) Jones of Powder Springs, Debra (Perry) Thomas of Douglasville, and Teresa (Alvin Reece) Jackson of Powder Springs; brother, Riley (Marjorie) Jones of Alabama; sisters, Sheila (Jeff) Cole of Alabama and Wanda (John) Beck of Dallas, Georgia; grandchildren, Tommy, Audrey, Matthew, Megan, Cody, and Casey; 13 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 28th 11:00 AM at Davis-Struempf Chapel with Rev. Rodney Carson and Rev. Butch Wilson officiating. Interment will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Thomas Grantham officiating the graveside.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 27th from 5-7 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home.
