Gerald Duane Wilson's Obituary
Gerald Duane Wilson, affectionately known to many as “Jerry”, was a loving father, brother, uncle, and friend. He transitioned his life on November 21, 2021, at the age of 71.
Gerald was born on November 14, 1950 in Ypsilanti, Michigan to Thelma Wilson. He was a graduate of Willow Run High School and proud member of the Willow Run Community. Gerald furthered his education and earned an Associate Degree from Washtenaw Community College and started a career in banking. He served and retired as a Vice President of First of America Bank in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1994. Gerald enjoyed music, sports, cooking, barbequing, spending time with family and a good cold Budweiser.
Gerald was preceded in death by his grandmother Virginia Goodwin, mother Thelma Wilson, brothers Leon Wilson and Vernal Wilson, and brother-in-law Wesley Walton, Jr. He leaves to cherish, with lasting memories and an honorable legacy of love and strength: 3 daughters Carol Mashatt (Lamar), Amanda Thomas Wilson, Alana Ikezu (Emeka), 1 son Jasen Wilson, and 1 stepdaughter April Hicks; 8 grandchildren Zion, Jayona, Braylen, Ayanah, Cadrick, Caysen, Ava and Chinara; 3 sisters Louise Wilson, Barbara Wilson, and Linda Walton; 2 sisters-in law Rita Wilson and Patricia Wilson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Cremation services were held in Austell, Georgia on November 23, 2021. Memorial services will be held at C&H Community for Funerals in Ypsilanti, Michigan on Sunday, December 5, 2021, at 2:00 PM.
