George "Jack" Williams Jr.'s Obituary
George Jackson Williams, Jr., age 83, of Douglasville, Georgia went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 7th, 2021. Jack was born on February 16, 1938, in Atlanta, Georgia. He was a long-time member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church in Mableton where he served as a Deacon, a Sunday School teacher, and on various committees throughout the years. He was a member of Battle Hill Lodge for over fifty years where he served as Secretary. Jack graduated from Southern Tech in 1973 and retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation in 1996 as the Administrator of Permits and Enforcement. Jack is survived by his three sons, Rich (Tracey) Williams of Douglasville, Jim (Amy) Williams of Cochran, and John (Debbie) Williams of Douglasville; five grandchildren, Jackie, Jacob, Henry, Molly, and Savannah; step-grandchild, Amber (Evan) Bruton; three step-great-grandchildren; his sister Mary Engram; nephews Mike (Tina) Engram and Tim (Jessica) Engram; and cousins. Visitation will be held at the Davis-Struempf Funeral Home on Sunday, May 9, 2021, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm and the service will be held at 3:00 pm there in the Chapel with Dr. Randal Whitten officiating. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens.
