I met George in the early eighties shortly after ITT Commercial Finance began floor planning the mobile home inventory for our small firm (Cherokee Supply). Over the next few years, our firm grew and had a great relationship with ITT and its staff. I always enjoyed George's whit, sense of humor and integrity. As I got to know him, he became more of a friend than a business associate. In 1989 the industries in which Cherokee Supply was involved suffered a dramatic slowdown and caught us with a critical overabundance of inventory and a shortage of customers. I flew to Atlanta, met with George and explained our dilemma. He spent several hours with me and put a package together that saved our firm and showed me a path to profitability. Due to a health issue in the spring of 1995, I sold our business and was able to retire at 48. George and I stayed in touch after we both had retired. George was a great friend and mentor. He was a man of great faith and a man I will never forget.
Rest in Peace Uncle Danny. Always a straight shooter. You will be missed. Eat some spaghetti up there with Granny for me.
I wish I was eloquent and witty to give George justice to his character.
He was a true friend, mentor and adviser full of practical wisdom. He really cared for his friends.
He was a loving and loyal husband. He loved his family, 10 siblings and he kept track of. his nieces and nephews.
I always said, “I would like to grow old with someone that loves me as much as I love him” he did, love me, but grow old we didn’t. He had young spirit, that liked to travel the world and when he wasn’t on the road he was reading books galore.
Enjoy your love ones today, don’t wait, until you realize life is short and full of unexpected events
I will miss his love, spunk, wisdom and a great sense of humor
Rest my love, you will always be in my heart. ❤️

George hired me in 1988 to work at ITT Commercial Finance. Little did I know then what a huge impact this man would make on my life over the next 35 years. George not only became a mentor, but a close personal friend and someone I considered as my 2nd dad. He was always there for me at work and in my personal life and I can't tell you how many times he would tell me how he "saved my life" from something. Once when I was going through a very difficult time George took me and my 3 girls into his 2nd home on his Powder Springs property for a few years and I became even more aware of what a kind, caring, compassionate man he was. What I will miss the most about George was his great sense of humor. He always had a great time entertaining whomever was around and he never met a stranger. Everyone that knew George loved his infectious personality. He also never held back with his opinion and would tell me or anyone else if he didn't feel you were doing the right thing. George Shill was definetly one of a kind and I have so many George Stories and fond memories of him. A great man that I love dearly and who made me want to be a better person.
Mr Shill was my lifelong friend . I first met him in 1972 when he hired me as a field rep for Philco Finance Corp. He could always be counted on if I needed advice or just to talk. In all the years of our friendship we never had any cross words , and i never saw him angry. He was always there if you were riding high or very low. He was the best friend i ever had and went above and beyond to help me, or my family. He did more for me than my father. He had a very kind soul and i will remember him with a smile and warm heart. So sad we lost him. Truly a great man and my friend
Prayers to Ana, and Mr Shills entire family

Danny was a special human being . Besides being funny , he was so well versed on many subjects Fromm all his books he read to his travels . He was a close friend to me and my family with many great memories .
We would still talk at least once a month to just check up on each other . I’m truly saddened by the loss of a great man and dear friend
