George Russell's Obituary
George Russell age 85 of Powder Springs passed away August 23, 2013. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, August 30th 1:00 PM at Davis- Struempf Chapel with Rev. Bill Rorie officiating.
George Russell was born in Birmingham Alabama to the late George Russell and Ophelia McCain,on May 21, 1928. He was a retired Navy veteran who served in WWII and the Korean War. After leaving the Navy, he returned to Birmingham to become a steel worker. Following his career to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he met and married Eloise Clark. Married for 47 years, they had four children, Michelle,Teresa, George(Bucky) and Eric. George was a hardworking man, who moved his family to New York City in 1963.
His wife Eloise passed on January 19, 2002 to be with Teresa who passed on at 26. He relocated to Georgia shortly thereafter.
George leaves behind to carry on his legacy, his daughter Michelle Russell of Atlanta, Ga and two sons George Russell of NYC and Eric Russell of Atlanta Ga, three granddaughters Sykimya Erica and Kecia,
Three grandsons Shannon,Shane and Jamal and two great grand children Kyleel and Dakota.
He loved his family and they loved them. He provided well for them. He loved life and the lord.
He will be greatly missed.
