George Russell Nobles' Obituary
George Russell “Russ” Nobles, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many, left us suddenly on March 13, 2025.
Russ was born to Joseph Nobles and Betty Markle Nobles in Phoenix, AZ in 1959. He grew up in Huntington Beach, CA, then moved to Georgia in his early twenties. In 1981, Russ met the love of his life, Donna Leigh Mason, and the two married in 1982.
Russ had a long career, spanning 33 years, with Sir Speedy Printing in Atlanta. He was a long-standing member of the Masonic community, joining the Samuel S. Lawrence Lodge in Marietta in 1998 and serving as their Past Master. He was also Past Master of the Cobb County Masonic Convention. For many years, he served as an advisor to DeMolay. When he was not working or participating at the Lodge, Russ dearly loved to golf. He made sure to include his family in his passion, purchasing golf clubs and lessons for family members so that he could bring them with him to the green. Russ was planning on retiring in April and traveling with Donna, making sure to stop at any courses along the way.
Russ was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Jeannie Ann Smith and Michael Lee Nobles.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Donna Nobles; children, Justin Nobles (Elizabeth) and Jessica Van Sickle (Kyle), both of Dallas; grandchildren, Elijah Nobles, Haden Nobles, and Kaidyn Van Sickle; and many beloved extended family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, March 21, 1:00 PM at Dallas First United Methodist Church, 141 E Memorial Dr, Dallas, GA 30132.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations in Russ’ memory be made to Samuel S. Lawrence Chapter, Order of DeMolay, 1362 Sandtown Road SW, Marietta, GA 30008.
