George W. Awtrey Jr.'s Obituary
Mr. George W. Awtrey, Jr., age 90 of Powder Springs died Tuesday, March 12, 2013. He was a WWII Navy Veteran, decorated three times, retired as a painter and was of the Baptist Faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Noland Awtrey. Survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby & Rebecca Awtrey of Pine Mountain, Charles & Ila Awtrey of Powder Springs, Mike & Robin Awtrey of Selmer,Tennessee; daughter, Mary Ann Kautz of Acworth; grandchildren, Kristi Moore, Wendy Amerson, Kim Castleberry, Paul Awtrey, Stephanie Hendrix, Ashleigh Strickler and Jordan Awtrey; 7 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Friday 11:00 AM, Davis-Struempf Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Marvin Frady officiating. Interment will follow at Powder Springs Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5-8 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project 3343 Peachtree Road, NE #M20
