Gayle Bryan Hunter's Obituary
Gayle Bryan Hunter, age 85, of Carrollton passed away September 22, 2024 surrounded by her family.
Gayle was born to the late Harry Bryan and Bessie Collins Bryan in Atlanta. She grew up in the Atlanta area, graduating from West Fulton High School. In 1959, she married the love of her life, Neal Hunter. The two built a beautiful life together filled with love and happiness.
Gayle worked for AT&T and retired after 37 years of service. In her free time, she loved to read, craft, play the piano, and travel.
Gayle and Neal were members of Mableton First Baptist Church for 56 years. Gayle served as the church secretary, sang in their choir, taught Sunday School, and cherished her church family. After moving to Carrollton, they transferred their membership to Mars Hill Baptist Church
She is preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Sherrie Ann Hunter.
Gayle is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Neal Hunter; children, Phillip Hunter (wife, Cynthia) of Carrollton and Kenneth Hunter (wife, Rachel) of Highlands Ranch, CO; sister, Maryanne Rogers (husband, Roy) of Marietta; grandchildren, Hannah (husband, Travis), Jacob (wife, Cindy), Evan, and Landon; and many beloved extended family and friends.
A funeral service honoring Gayle’s life will be held Saturday, September 28th, 1:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Chapel with Rev. Tim Childers officiating. Interment will follow the service at Mozley Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 1:00 PM before the service.
