Gary Raymond Lemley's Obituary
Gary Raymond Lemley age 73 of Rockmart passed away March 16, 2021. Gary retired from the United States Air Force after 21 years of service. He was a Vietnam Veteran and served in Operation Iraqi Freedom as a civilian security consultant.
Gary retired from the Cobb County Police Department after 20 years serving the community as a Police Officer.
He was a member of Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and the American Quarter Horse Association.
Gary is survived by his wife of 55 years, Katherine Kimbrell; son and daughter-in-law, Shawn and Leslie Lemley of Dallas; daughter, Dawn Lemley of Rockmart; son, Gary Lemley Jr. of Rome; grandchildren, Adam, Allison and Anderson; great-grandchildren, Jack, Lincoln, Penelope and Nico.
He is also survived by his sister, Judy Neely; brother, Larry Lemley and sister, Mary Vail.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday 1:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Scotty Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 2:00-5:00 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, money donations made be made in Gary’s name to the Food Bank at Buchanan United Methodist Church 3623 US-27 Buchanan, GA 30113.
Anyone wishing to view the service virtually may do so via a livestream video that will appear on Gary’s tribute page during the listed service time.
