Gail Tippens Paul's Obituary
Gail Tippens Paul, of Austell, GA, passed away on November 3, 2021. She was 83 years old.
Gail was born in Atlanta, GA on April 14, 1938 to Jack and Doris Tippens. She graduated from South Cobb High School in 1956. Gail married Winston H.(Sonny) Paul on May 29, 1960. They were married 30 years at his time of death.
Gail began working as a secretary for Cobb County Sheriff’s Department in 1991. In 1997, she joined the staff for the newly formed Domestic Violence Unit. There, Gail’s career extended 26 years before retiring at the age of 80 years old. Her other hobbies included traveling, playing bridge with her lifelong friends, and spending time with her family. She always said her greatest accomplishment was her children and grandchildren.
Gail is preceded in death by her husband, Winston H.(Sonny) Paul; parents, Jack and Doris Tippens; and brother, Michael Tippens.
Gail is survived by her children, Bradley Paul, Whitney Carlisle (David), and Lindsey Powell (Chan); grandchildren, Hannah Wilson (Taylor), Conner Paul, and Harrison Paul; and great-grandchild Jackson Ellis Wilson.
Funeral services for Gail Tippens Paul will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, 3:30 P.M. at Rose Hill Cemetery Austell, GA with Kevin Lobello, Senior Pastor, Sam Jones United Methodist Church Cartersville, GA officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30-3:00 P.M. at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at JDRF.org. The family of Gail Tippens Paul wishes to thank Wellstar Tranquility at Cobb Hospital for their compassionate and loving care during such a difficult time.
