Freddie A. Grizzle 's Obituary
Freddie A. Grizzle, 90, of Marietta, GA, passed away on June 6th, 2019 in Austell, GA.
Freddie was born in Roswell, GA to Brown Lowe Grizzle and Kate Grier Eison Grizzle on December 23, 1928. He married Hope Beatty Grizzle on January 8, 1965.
Freddie served in the US Army Air Corps and retired from the United States Air Force after 21 years of service. He was awarded Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award, Army Occupation Medal Japan, National Defense Service Medal, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, and Vietnam Service Award. He later retired from the U.S. Postal Service after an additional twenty years of service.
Freddie is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters and brothers and his son, Freddie A. Grizzle, Jr.
Freddie is survived by his wife, Hope; daughter, Diane Grizzle Cornelius; son, James Grizzle and wife, Sherry; John Grizzle and wife, Dagmar; daughter, Myra Grizzle and husband, Mark Maisel; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 10 at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home & Crematory.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday, June 10 at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow at Georgia National Cemetery on Thursday, June 13.
