Fred Swinger Jr.'s Obituary
Fred Swinger, Jr., age 85, of Smyrna, formerly of Los Angeles, passed away April 15, 2020. Fred served his country in the Army during the Korean War from 1955 to 1958. He went on to graduate from the University of California – Los Angeles and became an educator. Fred also owned a mechanic business in LA for years. One of his passions was photography, and he documented things from special occasions like weddings, family pictures, and even cars. He was also a Ping Pong Champion and played for many years and gained numerous trophies, even playing into his later years. Before his move to the Atlanta area, Fred was a member of Zoe Christian Fellowship in Los Angeles.
Fred is preceded in death by his siblings, Ralph Swinger, Constance Swinger, Dr. Hershel Swinger, Marcel Swinger, Stanley Swinger, and Wilber Swinger. He is survived by his children, Lori (Eric) Jacobs of Marietta, and Fred Anthony Swinger of Garland, TX; grandchild, Shannon Jacobs; and siblings, Amanda Swinger.
