Frank Calvin Jr.'s Obituary
Early in the morning of the 14th of August 2016, the angels came to release Frank F. Calvin, Jr. of Marietta, GA from his earthly bonds to take his spirit to heaven.
Frank Calvin served as 1st Lieutenant in the Vietnam War 1967 – 1968, and received his Combat Infantryman’s Badge, a Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and Silver Star.
After, Vietnam, Frank enjoyed a 30+ career in the construction industry as a carpenter, construction foreman, and ended his career as a specialty doors and windows installer for Jennifer’s Glassworks in Vinings.
Always active and social, a stranger to no one, when Frank wasn’t spending time with his devoted wife Peggy of 49 years, and his beloved daughter Beth, their only child, Frank spent retirement serving and volunteering with VFW Post 2681, and attending church services at Lost Mountain Baptist Church in Powder Springs. He loved biking, cooking, reading and fishing. Frank was an animal lover, and had many precious dogs as pets, throughout his life.
Born on the 20th of September 1943 in Hampton, VA and raised in Forest Park in Atlanta.
Funeral services for Frank will be at Lost Mountain Baptist Church, 5400 Old Dallas Rd SW, Powder Springs, GA, 30127 on Monday, August 22nd, visitation 10:00 am, funeral service 11:00. Frank will be interred at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to VFW Post 2681, 140 Powers Ferry Road, Marietta, GA 30067, or Dr. Good’s Homeless Pets Foundation http://www.homelesspets.com/donations/.
