Frances Amelia Travis' Obituary
Frances Amelia Travis, age 83 passed away on May 29, 2022. She grew up in Atlanta where she went to high school at O’Keefe High School. Frances moved to Smyrna when she married the love of her life in 1957. She was a wonderful mother to her 2 children. She was an avid bowler and used to be in a bowling league. Frances enjoyed playing bingo at the Mableton Moose Lodge and the American Legion. She was very involved in the Jaycettes, a local civic organization.
Frances is preceded in death by her parents, Clint and Mildred Townsend; brother, William “Billy” Townsend and brother, James Clinton “Twister” Townsend.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Truman Travis; son and girlfriend, Robby Travis and Lynn Williams of Douglasville; daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Greg Tucker of Brookhaven; sister and brother-in-law, Annette and Dan Petty; sister, Marion West; grandchildren, Troy and wife, Kaylan; Trina and Madison; 5 great-grandchildren, Lexi, Ava, Cameron, Paisley, Mason; and many beloved extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 2 at 12:00 pm at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Glen Petty officiating. Internment will follow at Riverview Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
