Ford Berry's Obituary
Charles Ford Berry, age 80 of Austell, passed away February 27, 2013.
Ford was born and raised in Marietta and served in the United States Navy. He retired from Sears after 25 years, and then retired from WDCY where he was a DJ for 18 years. Ford loved Southern gospel music and the groups who sang it. And he was loved in return by the many groups he represented. He also enjoyed playing tennis.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty Ledford Berry; daughters & sons-in-law, Sherry & Steve Rush of Powder Springs and Terri & Alan Clayton of Douglasville; grandchildren, Jamie Cantrell, Chris Cantrell, Jessica Maddox, Charles “Robbie Pressley, Amanda Martin, Jordan Clayton; great-grandchildren, Tanner, Jensen, Corbin, Madison, Jaxon, Carter, and Baileigh; and sister, Faye Stamey of Marietta.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 until 8 PM. The funeral service to honor his life will be held at Davis-Struempf Chapel on Friday, March 1, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Ken Johns officiating. Interment will follow at Mozley Memorial Gardens.
