Fannie Pigg's Obituary
Fannie Pigg, age 97, went to be with her Lord May 21, 2023. Fannie was born in Cherokee County to John Clark Wheeler and Bessie Elizabeth Waters Wheeler in 1925. Fannie was a long-time member of South Cobb Church of Christ.
In earlier years, she worked for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, and retired from there after 36 years of service. After that, she went on to work for Wellstar Cobb Hospital in the insurance department, and retired in 2000 after 15 years of service.
Fannie is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rufus Glen Pigg; her parents; and siblings, Willie Belle Chapman, Charlie Wheeler, Geneva Reed, Minnie Lou Alley, and Maude Miller. She is survived by her loving son, Billy Pigg (wife, Joyce) of Marietta; grandchild, Russell Pigg (wife, Cindy) of Hiram; great-grandchildren, Morgan Pigg and Macy Self (husband, Avery); great-great-grandchildren, Raegan Pigg, Amelia Self, and Marley Self; brother, Claude Wheeler; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 26, 11:00 AM at Davis-Struempf Chapel with Minister Tommy Tidwell officiating. Interment will follow the service at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM before the service.
