Evelyn Virginia Davis' Obituary
Evelyn Boyette Davis, age 86, of Lithia Springs, passed away on March 15, 2026. Evelyn was born on November 2, 1939 in Cairo, Georgia to the late John Robert Boyette and Idabelle Voyles Boyette. She graduated from Cairo High School in 1957. Evelyn worked as a bookkeeping manager before retiring and dedicated her life fully to her home and family.
A talented seamstress, excellent cook, and devoted homemaker, Evelyn took great pride in caring for those she loved. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Mableton, where she was active in her Sunday School class and sang in the adult choir. Her faith and church community were very important parts of her life.
Evelyn was a deeply devoted grandmother who spent many years helping care for her grandchildren, creating lasting memories and strong family bonds. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband visiting places around the world including Israel, Rome, Germany, Holland, and Italy. Evelyn was an avid reader and in her later years, she enjoyed playing cards with the ladies.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Sam Davis, son Marion Davis, son and daughter in law, Will and Kathy Anguish and sister Shirley Pritchett. She is also survived by grandchildren, Ava and Josh Taylor, Chandler Walters and Ashley Speed, Sammy Davis, Kerrie and Jonathon Hiett, Donald Anguish and Emily Loe, Tom Anguish and Billy Anguish; great-grandchildren Paisley and Lanie Kate Taylor, Carter, Hadley, Ollie, and Henry Hiett and Cade Anguish.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her daughter Lisa Walters, son in law Craig Walters and great-grandson Caden Crew Walters.
Evelyn will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Her legacy of faith, care, and devotion will live on in all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at Davis-Strumpf Funeral Home in Austell, Georgia. Visitation will be at 12:00 noon on Saturday, March 21 followed by the service at 1:00 pm. Burial will take place at 2:00 pm at Barber Cemetery in Mableton, Georgia.
