Eunice Marvena Metcalf's Obituary
Eunice Marvena McDaniell Metcalf of Smyrna, Georgia passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025. Born on August 6, 1925, Marvena lived to celebrate her 100th birthday. She was the daughter of the late Dudley Houston McDaniell and Rosalee Kirk McDaniell. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Cecil G. Metcalf, Sr., her son, C.G. Metcalf, Jr., her brother, Hugh Lee McDaniell, and her sister, Inez McDaniell Bruce.
Marvena was baptized into the Baptist faith as a young woman. She attended McEachern High School and went on to a career with Georgia Power Company for over 30 years.
She was a devoted wife and mother to C. G. As a family, they enjoyed traveling the world for many years.
Marvena is survived by her nieces, Marsha(Charlie) Crowder, Nancy Hester, Gail (Bart) Barton, Tammy (Mike) Chisholm and nephew, Hank Bruce. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews on the Metcalf side of the family.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 14, 12:00 to 1:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home.
A funeral service honoring Marvena's life will be held Thursday, August 14, 1:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Chapel.
Interment will follow the service at Crest Lawn Memorial Park.
