Eugene Vincent Harchar's Obituary
Eugene Harchar of Lithia Springs, GA (formerly of Lorain, OH) passed away April 17th, 2025.
He is preceded in death by his beloved mother Julia (nee Cyran) and two brothers Frank and Gary. Gene leaves behind an adoring, long-time partner Frances Godsey Nix, a son Ryan and his wife Destiny of Roswell, GA with their two children Caleb and Ari, a daughter Leah of Jonesboro, GA, and a lifetime of family and friends.
Growing up in Lorain, Gene graduated Class of 1968 from Lorain High School subsequently studying business at Lorain County Community College and Kent State University. He entered the automotive industry working for Ford Motor Company and Crown Steel.
After moving to the Atlanta area in the mid-seventies, Gene pursued a career in insurance and sales before returning to the automotive sector as a Service Manager. He served several local businesses including Dyer & Dyer, AAMCO, and Speedy Transmission.
Gene was a helper and a caretaker who found joy in his family, pets, reading, and puzzles. He loved exploring new places and had a constant thirst to learn more about his world. His presence will be greatly missed.
Loved ones are welcoming visitors at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home on Monday, April 21st from 4-8pm, after which Gene will be cremated and returned to his family.
