Estie Mae Norris' Obituary
Estie Mae Norris, age 99 of Clarkdale passed away September 11, 2014. She was the oldest and longest standing member of Clarkdale Baptist Church since 1938 and before was a member of Powder Springs First Baptist Church. Estie was a member of Senior Citizen in Powder Springs since opening in 1992. She retired from Coats and Clark in 1977, then worked at Charles White Clothing Store in Austell when she opened up her own business Norris Clothing and Notions before returning to work at Coats and Clark. She was well known for her quilts one quilt having over 600 hours of work. She has had a few displayed at Sevens Springs Museum. She was preceded in death by husband, Bill Norris. Survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Vivian and Richard Davis of Powder Springs; Elaine Lankford of Clarkdale and Jo Ann and Tony Graben of Ashland, Alabama; grandchildren, Michelle and Keith Jackson, Michael and Wanda Davis, Rodney Lankford, Barry and Jeanette Lankford, Cynthia and Joe Eidson, Carolyn and Dr. Eric Leithner; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Elsie Overton and Bertha Harkins. Funeral Services will be held Saturday 3:00 PM at Davis- Struempf Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Marvin Frady officiating. Interment will follow at Powder Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00-9:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Clarkdale First Baptist Church.
