Essie Price's Obituary
Essie Price passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026, at age 89 surrounded by love.
Essie was a woman of deep and unwavering faith. She loved Jesus with her whole heart, and her life reflected that devotion through kindness, grace, and a steady trust in God’s plan. Gospel hymns filled her spirit, and many who knew her can still picture her smiling, humming along, or offering a lighthearted joke at just the right moment.
She had a wonderful sense of humor — gentle, sometimes playful, always genuine — and she knew how to bring warmth and laughter even in simple moments. Her faith carried her through every season of life and remained a constant source of comfort and strength.
In her later years, Essie lived with dementia, a journey that changed many things but never diminished the love that surrounded her. She was cared for with devotion and compassion by her family, who honored both the woman she had always been and the peace she deserved.
Essie is survived by her daughters, Deborah Warren and Gail Pavuk; her grandchildren, Matt Pavuk, Chris Pavuk, Dylan Warren, Daisha Casey, and Lisa Goldsmith; 9 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her brothers, Wayne Robinson and Ronald Burgess.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles H. Price Sr.; her son, Tommy Dorsey Stancil; and her brothers, Pedro Burgess and Gary Burgess.
We rejoice in knowing that she is now whole, healed, and home — reunited with her Savior and loved ones, singing hymns once more.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
