Erik Ray Attaway's Obituary
A bright spot in the world, Erik Ray Attaway, age 45 of Austell, left us November 2, 2025.
Erik was born and raised in Austell, attended South Cobb High School, and worked for many years at Georgia Pole Base as a Crane Operator.
The joy of Erik’s life was his family, and no one made him prouder than his son, Jacob. He loved to share Jacob’s talents and accomplishments with everyone he met; Erik was truly his number one fan.
Erik’s smile could light up any room. He was always quick with a joke, and his laughter was infectious. His nieces and nephews loved wrestling with “Uncle Erik,” whose generous nature and loving heart drew people to him. He had a zest for life and a desire to lighten the burdens of those around him.
Erik is preceded in death by his parents; James and Martha Duvall.
He is survived by his son, Jacob Attaway; sisters, Patricia Arrowood (Steve) and Linda Bell (Richie); beloved nieces and nephews; best friend and chosen family, Moe and Tiffany Amar; and many extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 12:00 to 3:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home.
A funeral service honoring Erik’s life will be held Friday, November 7th, 3:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Chapel with Preacher Silas Arrowood and Preacher Branden Fuller officiating.
Interment will follow the service at Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery in Dallas, GA.
For anyone wishing to view the service virtually, a livestream link will be available at the above-listed service time on Erik's Tribute Page at https://www.davisstruempf.com
