Emilie Mae Jackson-Jones' Obituary
Emilie Mae Jackson-Jones, age 88, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025.
She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Pauline Matthews and Brinkley Blackwell on July 6, 1936. She grew up in Norristown, Pennsylvania, raised with six other strong Black women by her grandmother Elsie Mae Jackson.
On September 29, 1952, Emilie married the love of her life, Clarence William Jones, Sr., they shared 72 years of marriage and raised a beautiful family together. Emilie has spent her life loving, supporting, guiding, and committed to her family.
She sacrificed so much for her family, never hesitating to put them first. Her love was not just in words, but in the thousands of small acts of kindness and the unwavering support she gave. No matter what life threw at her, she faced it with strength, teaching them resilience with every step she took. She taught them that showing up for family is one of the greatest gifts you can give, and she demonstrated that every day.
Emilie, preceded in death by her parents, Pauline Matthews and Brinkley Blackwell, grandmother Elsie Mae Jackson, son-in-law Anthony Holloway, Aunts Alberta Jackson, Elsie Scott, Bernetta Jackson, Eleanor Smith, Anna Jackson, and Delores Davenport.
Emily is survived and cherished by husband, Clarence W. Jones, Sr.; sons, Clarence W. Jones, Jr., Lester Gordon Jones, Dwaine Christopher Jones; daughters Sharon Lee Allen, Wanda Jean Holloway and Tina Marie Bedgood; cousin/sisters Dorothy Mae Fisher and Diana Lynn Kitt, daughters-in law Linda Jones and Morjia Jones, son-in-law Rene Bedgood, sisters-in law, Isabelle Crocker, Catherine Robinson and Ruthann Ellis, eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.
Emilie may no longer be with us in person, but her legacy of love, strength, and sense of family will live on in all of us forever.
A viewing for the immediate family will occur on Friday, February 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at 3569 Dyer Parke Lane, Marietta, GA 30060.
