Elizabeth Miers Smith's Obituary
Elizabeth Miers Smith, age 74 of Austell, peacefully passed away Sunday, 16 December 2012. She is survived by her husband, George Smith; daughter, Dell Garner; sons Kenneth (Karen) Smith and Allen (Tracy) Smith; sisters, Ann Wilson and Faye (Gene) Golden; and brother, Steve (Evelyn) Miers. She had 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Elizabeth was a lifelong resident of Cobb County having been born in Powder Springs, Georgia, and was the daughter of the late Lewis and Inez Miers. She married George Smith 14 November 1959 at Powder Springs Methodist Church and raised 3 children all of whom still reside in Cobb County. She was employed by the Cobb County School System and retired from the Georgia Department of Human Resources. Throughout her life, Elizabeth was a tower of strength for her family. She will be greatly missed and always loved.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Chapel with Rev. Gene Golden officiating. Interment will follow in Powder Springs Memorial Gardens.
