Elizabeth Mae Johnson's Obituary
Mrs. Elizabeth Mae Johnson, age 80, of Mableton passed away July 4th, 2020. Elizabeth worked as a Pharmacy Tech and retired from Eckard Drugs in 2004. The most important thing to her was her family, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her husband, Norman “Sonny” Johnson; son, Norman “Gene” Johnson; brothers, Caney Byars, Charles Byars, and Hughdon Byars; sisters, Shelba Burkhalter, Linda Shaw, Barbara Spratling, and Betty Sue King. She is survived by her son, David Neal (Sharon) Johnson of Franklin, GA, grandchildren, David Neal Johnson, Jr. of Dallas, Kristen Thomas of Mableton, and Brittney Johnson of Dallas; great-grandchildren, Bradley, Aiden, Gage, and Makenzie; sisters, Juanita (J.W.) White, Grace (Johnny) Owens, and Gail (Doug) Walker; brother, Rev. Dale (Ann) Byars; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 11th, 1:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dale Byars officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM before the service.
Live plants are gratefully accepted, however, in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society at https://www.cancer.org/.
In keeping with current precautions due to COVID-19, we are requesting that anyone visiting the funeral home to wear a mask and maintain social distancing.
