Elijah Bryant affectionately known as “Papa Squeeze” was born October 21, 1938, the youngest son to Willie F. Bryant, Sr. and Mary Lizzie (Wright) in Leesburg, GA. He was raised in Albany, GA and enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 16. After his many exploits in the military, Elijah married his high school sweetheart, Mary Alice Grant which gave him two 2 sons, Douglas Andre Bryant and Dmitri Wendall Bryant. Later in life he met and married Joann Sharpley.
Elijah moved to Los Angeles where he enjoyed a 35-year career in the motion picture industry at Universal Studios as a set dresser in which he helped bring to life many movies such as Bustin Loose, Star Trek Generations, Paradise Alley and Kindergarten Cop as well as TV shows such Simon & Simon, Knight Rider & Amazing stories.
In his spare time, he was an avid golfer, loved watching all kinds of sports, movie set memorabilia collector and was an enthusiastic storyteller.
Elijah is preceded in death by 2 siblings Mary Bryant (deceased) and L.C. Bryant (deceased). He leaves behind, a wife Joann Bryant, children, Douglas Andre Bryant, Dmitri Bryant (Kimberly), 3 grandchildren, Emanuel McGinnie, Imani Bryant & Kennedy Bryant and 4 siblings, Willie F. Bryant Jr., O.C. Bryant, George Bryant and Minnie Bryant.
