Edna Lucille Ellis' Obituary
Edna Lucille Ellis, age 83, of Mableton passed away September 29th, 2022. Edna was born to Clifton Edward and Daisy Lou Kiziar Darnell in Atlanta. She grew up in the Chattahoochee area off of Bolton Road and attended West Fulton High School. At around age 18, Edna met the love of her life, William Buford Ellis. The couple raised two sons, Jeff and Scott.
Edna had a love for nature. She enjoyed gardening and her flowers, loved animals (especially her dog), and watching the birds. She was a wonderful cook and made excellent cornbread. Edna loved her family above all else, always caring for them and putting them first. She was a beloved wife, mother, and sister who will be dearly missed.
Edna is preceded in death by her dear husband of 54 years, William Buford Ellis; and siblings, Charles Darnell and Margaret Coley. She is survived by her sons, Timothy Scott Ellis of Lithia Springs and Jeffery Todd Ellis of Mableton; siblings, Harold Darnell (wife, Jerri) of Chatsworth, Shirley Baker of Winston, Lola Manley of Marietta, and Tina Oldham (husband, Chuck) of Lithia Springs; and sweet dog, Carmella.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 2nd, 2:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Chapel with Pastor Phillip Young officiating. Interment will follow the service at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 PM before the service.
