Edith C. Smith's Obituary
Edith C. Smith, age 88, of Douglasville passed away Thursday December 31, 2015. She was a very active member of Union Grove Baptist Church. She loved crafts, gardening, and reading. She loved her cat, Sampson. And she was well known for her biscuit’s and banana pudding. Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Lafayett Smith; and her brother James Alvin Bell. She is survived by her four children, Kathey (Pat) Deming, Debbie (Jerry) Scharoun, Celia (Richard) Smith, and Amanda (Rob) Sandidge; her grandchildren, Stephanie Brannon, Tracy (Steven) Joseph, Tommy (Tanya) Deming, Monica (Scott) Montgomery, Nick (Joanne) Mepham, Joey Furno, Casey Sandidge, Amanda (John Wesley) Walker, Scarlett Sandidge, Chris Smith, Shannon (Jonathan) Reynolds, and Samantha Smith; her great-grandchildren, Jacob Deming, Andrew Joseph, Luke Deming, Nathan Mepham, Abigal Furno, Aidan Montgomery, Kennedy Walker, Malachi Reynolds. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00PM Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Union Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Hennesy officiating. Family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00PM before the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the cemetery fund at Union Grove: 6517 Union Grove Road Lithia Springs, GA 30122.
