Dorian Michael Otwell's Obituary
Dorian Michael Otwell, 49, of Dallas, Georgia, passed away on July 8, 2024 after a 2 year battle with small cell lung cancer. Born in Austell, he lived a life marked by brilliance, love, and a profound passion for technology. Dorian was celebrated for his exceptional skills with computers, a talent that was evident to all who knew him.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Denise Otwell, and family that includes his ex-wife, Christy Smith Otaño; his sisters, Beatrix Otwell and Yolanda Pinson; his Uncle Lawrence and Aunt Teresa Otwell; his aunt, Glenda Reyes; his cousin, Gina Brock; his mother, Delilah Triplett and stepfather, Michael Triplett; brothers, Phillip Barnett and Paul Barnett ; and several other family members.
Along with his biological survivors, Dorian was loved, supported and survived by several special people, “Momma Nancy” Couey Hudson; Sandra Thomason; nieces, Madison Wirth and Emily Summerlin; best friend, Ross Matthews; and many other friends.
Dorian was a natural-born brilliant man who was committed to lifelong learning. Solving problems, no matter how complex, came easy to him. He was a devoted husband, a constant source of encouragement, and a steadfast support system for Denise. His love for animals, especially his cherished fur son, Jasper Pete Wigglebottoms; and his newest love kitten, Siobhan (Shiv) Roy highlighted his compassionate nature.
His uncanny and amazing sense of humor always made Denise laugh, and he knew laughter is her favorite emotion. His deep affection for animals was one of the things she loved most about him. He was a hard worker and when she was ready to give up, Dorian always managed to come through. To her, he was an incredible source of comfort.
