Donald Amon Wagley's Obituary
Donald Amon Wagley, 91, peacefully entered eternal rest while tended to by family on January 13, 2026. He was born at home on the family farm in New Madrid County, Missouri.
Don sought always to improve his standing through service and education. He served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Midway. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree at Southeast Missouri State University, then worked as a successful businessman in Florida and Georgia.
Don was a beloved partner, devoted parent and adoring grandparent.
He was preceded by his mother, Oma Hazel Wagley; father, John Amon Wagley; and sister, Sue (Bob) DeNoon.
He leaves behind his beloved companion of 41 years, Priscilla Granese; daughter, Sabrina (Mike) Wheeler; sons, Scott Wagley and Darren Wagley; grandchildren, James (Sarah); Ashland (Will); Holly, Rose, Christopher, Jonathan, and Jackson; great-grandchildren, Emery, Quinn, Lucie, and Lana; brother, Jerry (Martha).
Don lived in Georgia for over 41 years. Don, with Priscilla, started an investment/financial company with an emphasis on the real estate market. During the years, they traveled for both business and pleasure, with trips to Canada, Greece, Panama, Grand Cayman, several islands, and more. Several trips and cruises were enjoyed by the children and grandchildren.
Don was semi-retired and enjoyed bird watching out the kitchen window, looking for the deer at night, and watching youtube videos of people in foreign lands building and cooking without modern essentials. However, the highlight of his retirement was pool parties and get-togethers with the entire family. He was excited when the grandchildren and great-grandchildren would come in and say
“Hey Pops, I Love You”.
Don lived a life marked with good health, adventure, exploration and deep admiration for his family and friends. He delighted in the family reunions and gatherings, always front and center in the large family photos.
A reception will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026 at 12:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life at 1:00 PM in the Chapel.
Final resting will be held at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to his favorite charities: Tunnels to Towers, St. Jude’s Children's Hospital, St. Joseph Indian School, and Shriners Children’s Hospital.
