Dempsey King's Obituary
Mrs. Dempsey Brewster King of Mableton passed away Saturday, May 7, 2011 after a lengthy illness, at the age of 91. Mrs. King grew up in Sunnyside, GA, was a resident of Mableton for 45 years, and retired after decades of service, as a Tax Commissioner with the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms. She was a faithful, active member of the former Brookwood Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and served as treasurer and was a current member of Calvary Baptist Church in Austell. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and was preceded in death by her husband, Otha King and brothers Eldon and Johnson Brewster. Mrs. King is survived by her daughters, D’Anna Liber of Kennesaw and Carol King of Marietta; son, Doyle King of Mableton; son-in-law, David Liber; grandsons, Matthew Liber and Patrick Liber, all of Kennesaw; sister Ruby Jagoe; niece Becky Jagoe; great-nephews, Jeff and Chris, all of Birmingham, AL. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 - 8 PM. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Calvary Baptist Church in Austell with Rev. Bill Rorie and Rev. Chris Humphries officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Harmony Memorial Gardens
