Dean Eugene Wise's Obituary
Dean Eugene Wise, age 72, of Mableton passed on to his Heavenly home February 20, 2024.
Dean was born to Bernard Wise and Irma Wise (neé Swartz) in Akron, Ohio. He grew up in Union Town, where he graduated high school. From there, Dean went on to acquire his Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from Akron University.
Dean had a long career as a mechanical engineer. He worked for General Electric, from which he retired, and the Finnish company, Tampella. His career with Tampella took him all around the world, taking him to countries like Finland, Sweden, Spain, Iran, and Germany. He also worked for B&W of Barberton, Ohio.
Dean was a devoted husband and a dearly loved uncle. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed talking sports with his nephews. He watched football, basketball, and baseball, and especially loved the Atlanta Braves and the Auburn Tigers. Dean had a precious spirit and was a genuine, kind person. He often participated in volunteer work and G.E.’s Angel Tree. He never met a stranger and will be dearly missed by all who loved him.
Dean is preceded in death by both of his parents.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Diane R. Wise; sister, Sandy Shaw and her husband, Craig of Richmond, VA; sister-in-law, Cynthia Sanders of Opelika, AL; brother-in-law, Frank Thomas and wife, Kathy of Saint Marys, GA; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A memorial service honoring Dean’s life will be held on Saturday, March 9th, at 11:00 AM in Davis-Struempf Chapel.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM before the service.
