David Eugene “Papa” Wood, age 75 of Austell, passed away October 12, 2011. David served in the United States Coast Guard and later retired from Square D. He was a member of Pebblebrook Baptist Church and attended Concord Baptist C Read Obituary
When I told John (husband) that a cousin had passed away, he asked which side..I said "both sides"...mother's brother having married daddy's sister. My "double cousins" have always been at all my family reunions. David always had a great sense of humor; I can't think of him without smiling. Sherry, I'm so sorry I can't be there. Allow me to share with you. My life is now richer because of David Wood. He showed me thru his life what a Christian should be alway ready to be there when he was needed or just to get me a joke or two. David is no longer suffering and has gone home to his reward having led a good Christian life. Although we didn't see much of each other in later years, he was always a part of my life. We enjoyed our many childhood visits to each others homes as well as to our grandparents homes. Since David's mother was my dad's sister; and his father was my mother's brother, we shared both sets of grandparents. That was a special bond.
