David E. RouLaine's Obituary
David E. RouLaine, aged 79 of Tuscaloosa, AL passed away peacefully on September 14th, 2023. David was the youngest of a family of 8 siblings and lived most of his earlier and later years of life in Tuscaloosa and Moundville, AL. He moved to Georgia to marry his wife Trudie Virginia (Parker) RouLaine and raise his family Ashley and Jeff RouLaine. They lived in Atlanta, Athens, Savannah and Douglasville, GA as well as Ponte Vedra Beach, FL for 40+years.
David was loved by many and was always making people happy with his jokes, pranks and contagious laughter. He could light up a room and all the nephews, nieces, grandkids and great grandkids wanted to be near him at family gatherings. A lover of the outdoors and nature, his children and grandchildren will always have precious memories of riding double on the John Deere mower, swimming in the creeks, catching critters and taking long walks through the woods with him as he educated us on the names of plants, trees and different types of wildlife. Fishing was a passion for him and he spent many hours bringing antique poles, lures and boat motors back to life.
David is preceded in death by his parents Cyril Claytus and Rena Ethel and sisters; Bobby, Evelyn and Billie; and brothers Kenneth and Nick. Surviving brothers are Richard and Paul RouLaine.
David’s surviving immediate family is wife Ginny; his son Jeff and granddaughter Kylie Ann. His daughter Ashley and husband Michael; children Sarah, Lleyton and Marcus.
We will always have a place in our hearts and he will be remembered for his love of life and family. We know he is in heaven reeling in the big fish right now.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association at http://www.alz.org
