David Christopher Cubito's Obituary
David C. Cubito preceded us in death on April 11, 2023. David was born in Syracuse, NY, on February 11, 1969, to proud mother, Sharon M. Cubito and biological father Marvin Rice. His present residence is Atlanta, GA, but he will tell everyone he is from the island of Miami.
David lived much of his life in Melborne, FL, where he met his ex-wife Sandy, and they had two children, Christina, and David Cubitio II. He later had two additional children, Rashaun and Shardaa, who were also born in Melborne.
David was passionate about his craft in construction and carpentry. With experience ranging from building and renovating homes to his current position as maintenance division manager, he was devoted and gifted in his feild of work. in addition, David loved fishing, music, and barbequing. With a couple of Bud Ice beers, he became the life of the party, making up his dances and (self-proclaimed) DJ of the party. All jokes aside, David was proud and firm in his stance of adoration when it came to his family and friends. He loved his children and was proud of their accomplishments. David's sudden and tragic death was overwhelming and unexpected. In which he died alone two days into his long overdue vacation.
He leaves behind his siblings Deanne; James Jr.; Danielle; and William. They were followed by his nieces and nephews Amanda, Freddie III, James III, Devontae, Alexander (godson), Shakayla, James IV, Jaxson, Kayla, William II, Jonathan, Mason; and greats James V, Jordan, Javion, and Quentin. His niece Brianna preceded him in death. Aunts and Uncles; Candee, Susan, Vincent, Anthony, Burgess, Daryl, Cedric, Felecia, Daphne, and Grandmother Jerald Faye Ewing. My mother's relocating to Miami and escaping domestic violence surrounded us with extended family, who assisted my mother in raising us, the Warings, Brenda, Perry, Kenny, many cousins, and a host of honorary brothers and sisters.
The most important thing our family did as a tradition of our mother was to gather at the beach (ocean), which is where he got the love of being on and around the water. Later, in July, we will continue the tradition of spreading David's remains into the ocean in Melborne, FL, following our mother's wishes, Sharon, the matriarch of our family, releasing his spirit as we did with hers.
A memorial service honoring David's life will be held Saturday, May 13th, at 12:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM before the service.
For anyone wishing to view the service virtually, a livestream link will be available on David's Tribute Page at www.davisstruempf.com at the above-listed service time.
