Darwin "Duby" Carlisle's Obituary
Mr. Darwin Davis "Duby" Carlisle, age 84 of Austell, died Thursday, January 28, 2010. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Austell, Local Union 8 in Atlanta, and was a World War II veteran of the USCG-Merchant Marines. Mr. Carlisle was a printing and pressman at Foote and Davies for 38 years. An avid golfer, he grew up playing at the Old Lithia Springs Golf Course. He made two holes-in-one at Dogwood Golf Course where he was formerly a member. He also loved playing at other golf courses in the area. He is survived by his wife of over 63 years, Betty Mobley Carlisle; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Pat Matthews; and grandson, Kyle Matthews, all of Austell; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 30, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Davis-Struempf Chapel with Rev. David O'Dell officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 4 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
