Cynthia Renee Mahaffey's Obituary
Cynthia Renee (Gunter) Mahaffey Arrived: May 23, 1955 Departed: May 20, 2024 To know her, was to love her. Right, wrong or indifferent, if you were in need of someone to listen, she was there. She could always make you believe, in that moment, that everything was going to be okay. A caretaker and nurturer by nature; she gladly put everyone’s needs before her own. Practices, games, concerts and all the ubiquitous gatherings that come with parenthood; possibly a few minutes late, but nonetheless, she was there. Renee Mahaffey, age 68 of Powder Springs, Georgia released all the pain and finally found peace Monday afternoon. Renee is preceded in death by her mother, Jacqueline Alice Maxey, her father, Charles David Gunter, her brothers, Timothy Carl Gunter & Charles David Gunter II. She is survived by her husband of fifty years, Bill Mahaffey, her sister, Kim Gunter Woodard and her daughters who vigilantly remained by her side, Maria Mahaffey Graham, Kelly Mahaffey Vining & Stacy Mahaffey and their families, including her beloved grandchildren, Maddux & Layla Graham, Max & JoJo Vining and Harper Mahaffey. My mother was a warrior and fought inconceivable harder than one could ever imagine. Sadly, it was a battle that could not be won. Friends, family and loved ones: We encourage you and your family to receive regularly scheduled colonoscopies and do not put off seeing a doctor when needed.
