Clarence William Jones Sr.'s Obituary
Clarence William Jones, Sr. was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was born in 1932, to Elizabeth Rose Jones and Clarence Walter Jones.
On September 29, 1952, at the young age of 20, Clarence married the love of his life Emilie Mae Jackson, and they shared 72 years of marriage and raised a beautiful family together. Clarence worked for Norristown Wholesale Produce Company for 36 years before retirement. He was also an amazing self-taught pianist/organist inclusive of various genres of music; he spent much of his life setting an example of strength, resilience, commitment to fatherhood and family; and bringing joy to many others through his music.
Clarence, preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth Rose Jones and Clarence Walter Jones, wife Emilie Mae Jones, sister Christine Harrell, cousin/brother Ronald Fisher, cousin/sister Betty Gresham and son-in-law Anthony Holloway.
He is survived and cherished by sons, Clarence William Jones, Jr., Lester Gordon Jones, Dwaine Christopher Jones; daughters Sharon Lee Allen, Wanda Jean Holloway and Tina Marie Bedgood; sisters Isabelle Crocker, Catherine Robinson and Ruth Anne Ellis, sisters-in-law/cousins Dorothy Mae Fisher and Diana Lynn Kitt, daughters-in law Linda Jones and Morjia Jones, son-in-law Rene Bedgood, eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.
Clarence may no longer be with us in person, but his legacy of family commitment, strength, love and resilience will live on in all of us forever.
A funeral service honoring Clarence's life will be held on Wednesday, March 19th 12:30 pm at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Thomas Blagg officiating. Interment will follow the service at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for visitation from 11 am - 12:30 pm before the service.
