Christine Ruth McWilliams' Obituary
Christine Ruth McWilliams, age 87 of Powder Springs passed away August 16, 2023.
Christine was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, Powder Springs where she played the organ for many years.
Her hobbies included baking and playing the organ and piano. She enjoyed traveling, especially to the mountains.
Christine was a faithful servant of the Lord. She loved telling others about Jesus and the true meaning of Christmas. Christine had the gift of hospitality and was known as the resident chef and baker.
She enjoyed spending time with family, especially her great-grandchildren whom she adored.
Christine was preceded in death by her first husband, Max L. Chastain; son, Chris Chastain; second husband, George T. McWilliams
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, René and Todd Thompson of Powder Springs; grandson, Rev. R.F. “Ritchie” and Michelle Haney, Jr. of Aragon; grandson, Russell J. Haney and Kayla Pate of Villa Rica; grandson, Jacob and Grace Thompson of Dallas.
Christine is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Kody (Alexis), Kyleigh, AJ (Shilo), Madelyn, Anna, Samantha, Caiden, Halle, Ezra, great-great grandson, Waylen.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday 11:00 AM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Bobby Wood and Pastor Chip Abernathy officiating. Interment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends for visitation Friday from 4:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
