Chloie Baxter's Obituary
Chloie Smith Baxter, age 90, of Austell passed away July 27, 2016. She was born August 9, 1925 in Carroll County, Georgia. Mrs. Baxter married her husband December 9, 1944 and had been married for 71 years. She loved gardening, shopping, playing the banjo, singing, and visiting with family. Mrs. Baxter attended Austell First United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Lodemia (Irvin) Terrell, Mae Fern (Hansel) Thacker, Josie (Happy) Lowe; and brother, Joseph (Mary) Smith. She is survived by her husband, James E. “Bud” Baxter; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and John Nicholson of Jasper; granddaughter and husband, Kimberly and Phillip Underwood; grandson and wife, Patrick and Virginia Kelley; great granddaughters, Katie and Emily Underwood; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 11:00 AM at Austell First United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Martin officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, 5:00PM to 8:00PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service at Rose Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Austell First United Methodist Church.
