Cheryl Ann Tracy's Obituary
Cheryl Ann Tracy (Baker) went to be with Jesus at the age of 63 after an illness. She passed in her home in Austell, GA on March 23, 2026, with her cousin Nancy Beu and daughter Michelle Tracy by her side.
Cheryl was born in Aurora, Illinois on September 30, 1962 to Norma Jean Baker (Podschweit) and Ronald Baker. She lived in Montgomery, IL until her 20’s, later moving to the Atlanta area with her daughter Aimee and was the valedictorian of her class when she got her associate’s degree.
She married Keith Steven Tracy and together they had her second daughter, Michelle Norma Tracy. She worked as an executive assistant for insurance firm Gay and Taylor and later as the assistant to the Editor for Full Throttle motorcycle magazine.
She enjoyed live music, watching Michelle play in Special Olympic events and anything that involved her grandbabies-Layla and Brody. She was a die-hard Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. If she couldn’t attend a game, she was watching one with her Chicago Cubs fan group online. She was a free spirit and passionate person. She liked to help others when she could. She loved all animals but especially her cats and watching birds. Her cat Ernie is almost 15 yrs old and was by her side to the end.
She is survived by both her daughters, Aimee (Nesbit) and Michelle, grandchildren Layla and Brody, brother Mark Baker, half brother Gary Baker, step-sister Cindy Hurdon (Podschweit), step-brother Steve Junas and step-sister Deb Fishburn (Junas), many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was welcomed into Heaven’s gates by her ex-husband Keith Tracy, her parents Norma Podschweit and Ronald Baker, her sister Kathy Dunbar (Baker) and brother Kenny Podschweit.
A celebration of life will be held on March 26th 2026 at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home, 1975 East-West Connector Austell GA 30106. Visitation with family will be from 12-1p followed by a short service at 1pm.
Family request that no black be worn and prefers guests to wear Cubs gear or the color purple in honor of Cheryl. Close family and friends may gather post service for drinks at Long Horns on East-West Connector. Contact Aimee Nesbit for details.
