Charlie Wilburn Parr's Obituary
Charlie Wilburn Parr, Jr., age 83, of Mableton, GA passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2018, at Wellstar Cobb Hospital following a brief illness. He was a member of Leland United Methodist Church. He was the son of the late Charlie Wilburn Parr, Sr. and the late Mrs. Trudie Brantley Parr. Wilburn was a loving and devoted husband to the late Mrs. Letha McCoy Parr for 58 years and is survived by his three sons Steve (Sheila) Parr of Marietta, Phil (BJ) Parr of Wrightsville, David (Shannon) Parr of Atlanta; grandsons Travis (Ginger) Parr of Hiram, William Parr of Wrightsville; great grandchildren Alyssa Parr and Wyatt Parr. Wilburn graduated from Wrightsville High School in 1952 and attended college at Georgia Southwestern; upon graduating from college he relocated to Atlanta where he raised a family and worked at Life of Georgia for 36 years, retiring in 1992. He then spent an additional 15 years working for the Georgia Department of Insurance. Wilburn was known and loved by many and will be remembered for his faith, his love of family and his many stories of growing up on the farm in Wrightsville, GA. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 4-8PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home & Crematory in Austell, GA and on Sunday, April 22, 2018 from 1-2:45 PM at Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory in Wrightsville, GA followed by a graveside services at West View Cemetery in Wrightsville, GA.
