Charles "Chuck" Yantis' Obituary
Charles “Chuck” Yantis, age 73, of Powder Springs passed away May 27, 2021. Chuck was a long-time member of Refuge Community Church in Austell. Chuck was very proud of his military service and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He served on many NATO vessels and collected hats from many foreign nations he served with along the way. Chuck even had the opportunity to meet and speak with Queen Elizabeth while she was touring different NATO ships.
In his free time, Chuck enjoyed fishing and playing pool, having belonged to many pool clubs across the years. He loved his family and spending time with them was his joy. Chuck was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, and friend who will be dearly missed.
Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ginny Yantis; and three brothers, Philip, Donnie, and Ronnie Yantis. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lynn Yantis; children, Tony Bellville of Columbus, OH, Patti (wife, Tavi) Lynk of Columbus, OH, Paul (wife, Amanda) Goodson of Temple, Jonathan Goodson of Lithia Springs, and Joshua (wife, Kimberley) Yantis of Lithia Springs; brother, Dale Yantis of Columbus, OH; grandchildren, Kiley, Ethan, Kaitlyn, Matthew, Jessica, Emily, Nissie, Kourtney, Lazarus, and Silas; great-grandchild, Elizabeth; and many beloved extended family.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 1, 2:00 PM at Refuge Community Church with Rev. Will Gravely officiating. He will lie in state from 1:00 to 2:00 PM before the service.
Interment will follow the service at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park.
