Charles Craig Walters Jr.'s Obituary
Charles “Craig” Walters, Jr., age 65 of Douglasville, passed away on July 27, 2025.
Craig was a proud graduate of Pebblebrook High School, Class of 1977.
A true gearhead at heart, Craig was a proud and longtime member of the Powder Springs Push Rods. He had a passion for classic cars, hot rods, and was a fixture at local car shows, where his enthusiasm and stories were always a crowd favorites. He spent many years working with John’s Classic Cars and Parts, where his knowledge and dedication earned him the respect of colleagues and customers alike.
Craig had a knack for finding hidden treasures and was an avid estate sale explorer. One of his favorite yearly traditions with his daughter Ava was making the pilgrimage along the Highway 127 Yard Sale—America’s longest yard sale—where he combined his love of history, cars, and a good bargain.
Known for his dry wit and quick sense of humor, if you ever asked Craig a question, chances are you heard his classic response: “Google it.” But those who knew him best also knew that if you needed help, he’d give you the shirt off his back—no questions asked. His generous spirit, hardworking nature, and deep devotion to his family defined who he was.
Craig leaves behind a community of friends and family who will miss his wisdom, his humor, and the rumble of his favorite hot rod pulling into the driveway.
In addition to his parents, Craig was preceded in death by his wife, Lisa Walters, grandson, Caden Walters, and nephew, Jeremy Woods.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Ava and Josh Taylor of Hiram; son and daughter-in-law, Chandler and Ashley Walters of Douglasville; grandchildren, Paisley Taylor and Lainey Taylor; sister, Sonja Woods of Mableton; nephew, Myron and wife, Wendy Woods of Douglasville; great-nephew, Aiden Woods of Douglasville; significant other, Chasedie Woody of Douglasville.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 2, 2025, 11:00 AM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home Chapel with Charles Brock officiating. Interment will follow at Barber Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation Friday from 4:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
