My family met Charles through the Georgia Tech Athletic Association, working alongside one another as ushers and ambassadors. Charles was a true Southern gentleman, with a kind word for everyone he encountered. He was also a fine representative of the institute. Charles always seemed to have a smile on his face and loved life. Even more than life, he loved his family. Jo was the love of his life, his constant traveling companion, and he would always share stories about his children and grandchildren. He was extremely proud of them and their accomplishments. Charles was a real friend, someone who would call you just to let you know he was thinking about you and hoping all was well. While Charles will be missed, he left us all with wonderful memories which we will cherish. Rest in peace, brother.

Working along side Charles at GT basketball and football was indeed a privilege as he was a true gentleman (and leader) treating everyone with respect and love. I cannot express my true sadness and feelings for Jo and his family on his passing. I will really miss my text and/or birthday discussions with him each year as all of us GT ushers and Ambassadors just lost our best friend. Prayers and God's love to him, Jo and the entire family.

Jo and family, we all hated to hear about Charlie. Sending out love and condolences. Charlie was such a good man and everyone respected him. Sherry Tuggle and I always loved running into you two when we were in Austell for my doctor visit. It was such a treat to see you both. We will be thinking of you and praying for you and the family.
