Charles J. DeMatto's Obituary
Charles J. DeMatto, age 83 of Smyrna passed away March 16, 2015. Charles was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. He was 20 years retired from the United States Army serving in Berlin Air Lift after World War II and served in the Korean War. He then worked 35 years as a P. A. and owned and operated Gino’s Pizza in Austell from 1972 to 1991 when he retired. Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemarie Menzel DeMatto. He is survived by son, Clem DeMatto of Marietta; daughter, Regina Martinez of Smyrna; grandchildren, Michelle and Jason Able, Desiree Watkins, Toby and Jessica Martinez, Charles J. DeMatto, and James DeMatto; great-grandchildren, Alex, Abel, Bryson Martinez, Blakley Martinez; sister, Genevieve Rutch, Gloria Barry; brothers, Gabriel DeMatto, Joseph DeMatto, Donald DeMatto, and Clement DeMatto.
Funeral Services will be held Friday 12:00 PM at Davis Struempf Chapel. Interment will follow the service at Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday 4:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Arrangements are with Davis- Struempf Funeral Home, Austell. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cancer Research
