Charles Darnell's Obituary
Mr. Charles C. Darnell, age 83 of Austell, passed away December 19, 2013. He served for ten years in the United States Army, including a tour in Korea. In 1995, he retired from Stone Container. Charles was a member of Concord Baptist Church. He loved fishing and the mountains and was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 153.
Charles is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara Stephens Darnell; children: Randy & Reneé Darnell of Eatonton, Russell & Frankie Darnell of Mableton; grandchildren: Christian Darnell, Nikki Irving, Anna Darnell, Ben Darnell, Luke Darnell; great-grandsons: Kamrin and Bentley; brother, Harold & Jerri Darnell of Chatsworth; sisters: Margaret & Roy Coley of Carrollton, Edna & Billy Ellis of Mableton, Shirley Baker of Carrollton, Lola & Jimmy Manley of Marietta, Tina & Chuck Oldham of Douglasville; nieces; and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home. The funeral service to honor his life will be held on Monday, December 23, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the Davis-Struempf Chapel with Rev. Richard Wilkins and Rev. Eddie Barton officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
